Term 2 is off to a flying start at Moorefield Girls with significant whole school events happening. I thank you for getting behind these events and by ensuring your daughter's participation.
- Our Year 7 and Year 12 Parent Teacher Night is an occasion to meet with parents and discuss each student's start to the year and their academic progress. Our teachers highly value these events and we look forward to parents booking in for the next Parent Teacher Night on TUESDAY 3 JULY, from 3.30pm.
- This week, our Year 7 and Year 9 students are sitting for NAPLAN. After walking around at recess time today to get feedback from the students, they felt confident and happy about today's paper.
- The Athletics Carnival was a great success last Friday with all students enjoying the activities, the atmosphere and the competition between houses. Congratulations to all girls who were present as they made it a very enjoyable and fun day.
At the end of Term 1, the school published the 2017 Annual Report and 2018-2020 School Plan. These documents are on our school website and I encourage parents and carers to read these publications to hear about successes in 2017 and our plans for 2018 and beyond. We welcome and value any feedback you may have on these documents.
I was privileged to attend the Brighton RSL Sub Branch Dawn Service on ANZAC day during the holidays with our school captains, Arabella and Felicity, who laid a wreath on behalf of Moorefield Girls High School. This is something the school has always taken part in and is an important event on our calendar. I look forward to continuing this tradition each year.
School fee statements will be posted later this week and I encourage you to contact me if you are experiencing financial difficulties and would like to discuss a payment plan. Elective subject fees are now overdue and the school appreciates your contribution if you have already paid these.
Looking forward to seeing you at our next P&C meeting on Wednesday 30 May, 6.30pm in the Common Room.
Ms N Hale, Principal
