Recently students and staff from Beijing Dongcheng Junior High School were welcome visitors to Moorefield Girls. They participated in a learning and cultural exchange with highlights including cooking Australian themed food, learning traditional Australian songs, exploring Brighton-Le-Sands Beach and sharing their culture with our students. Many friendships were formed and the week concluded with a graduation ceremony and exchange of gifts.
Having a buddy from China was fun as we were able to practise languages and learn new ideas from each other. I learnt that their school has three underground levels with one of them being a swimming pool level. Halena, Year 8
The cultural experience developed into strong lifelong friendships. The thing I most enjoyed was learning about the students and their culture. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to visit them at their school in Beijing. Banu, Year 7
Having students from Beijing Dongcheng Junior High at our school was an honour. They were fun to host and we learnt so much from each other. Catherine, Year 7
