Earlier this year Pooja (Yr 11) was selected and then attended the ACCESS for Women program at the University of New South Wales. This program is a five day summer school offered to up to thirty six female students going into Years 11 and 12. The program aims to encourage young women to pursue Computer Science as a career path through five days of learning, social interaction, and networking with industry sponsors.
This was a very inspiring week filled with new people, new places and the best of all, new experiences. The conference taught me many skills relating to the IT industry and broadened my understanding of coding. An amazing experience overall.
I have also been selected to attend a five day work experience program ‘TCS goIT Girls' run by Tata Consultancy Services and cannot wait to go. This program opens up new opportunities and careers in IT for girls in Years 10 and 11. Pooja (Yr 11)
