Year 7 students were involved in a special orientation program during their first week to support their successful transition to high school. They participated in a number of special workshops including One Note training, STEMS activities, Orienteering, Peer Support and Cyber-safety. The program ended with a sausage sizzle lunch, cooked by the peer support leaders and followed by a study skills session where they received their school diaries. From their feedback to teaching staff, they have already begun to form strong friendships and positive relationships.
Moorefield Girls is a school to experience new and exciting subjects that are waiting to be discovered. Our school is all about the warm welcomes you receive from older students. We also help each other and like they say, ‘the more the merrier'. Maygol, Year 7
When we drove into the car park Orientation Day I was freaking out! After being at Moorefield Girls for a couple of days I started to feel more confident because I knew that my older sister was here and I also met new people. Jemma, Year 7
On the very first day of high school I was so nervous my stomach had a bad case of butterflies but I was excited to be making a fresh beginning. The orientation program was a very good idea because it gave us the opportunity to get to know all the other Year 7s and I made many friends. I can't wait to spend the rest of my high school years at Moorefield Girls. Yasmine B, Year 7
