Last week, very successful Mock Interviews were held with Year 10 students. We had nine volunteers from Westpac, Australian Defence Forces (ADF), Rockdale Council and a private business who took on the role of interviewer. They always do this in their own time and we appreciate their expertise.
All volunteers were very impressed with how polite and engaged our students were and with their preparation and presentation on the day.
The Mock Interview program was a big learning experience. It helped me reduce stress and anxiety about interviews and I gained confidence. I was provided with constructive feedback for the future. I participated in a mock interview with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) as if it was entry level and it was a very good learning experience for me. Preparation before the interview was vital as I had to create a resume, cover letter and organise my certificates. My interviewer gave me a separate criteria sheet about what we did well and things that needed improvement. This has been great preparation for my future. Seini, Year 10
